"By basing the design of a villa in the dunes on the coastal landscape of dunes and a nearby bunker, Zandbelt&vandenBerg created a home that merges with its surroundings. A projecting volume gives it the appearance of a building atop a waterfall of sand. The concrete wall to the south refers to the bunker. Various materials used in exterior walls give each side of the building a distinctive identity: reflective glass to the north, glass and green stone on the east; corrugated concrete to the south; and concrete, slate, glass and wood on the west. Despite the simplicity of the design, the villa boasts a clever circulation plan."
